The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Evaluation Services Division is accountable for the Program of Learning Assessment for Nova Scotia (PLANS), which includes provincial, national, and international assessments.

Provincial assessments are conducted in elementary, junior, and senior high schools (in senior high these are the Nova Scotia Examinations, or NSE).

Students supported through the Tuition Support Program particpate, as appropriate, in the provincial assessments and examinations. For more information on these assessments and examinations, speak to your child's classroom teacher or principal.
